Differential drive robot with a Jetson TK1, Ultrasonic sensors, ROS Jade, for navigation purposes (2019)
Description
The project consisted of developing an autonomous mobile robotic system working with ROS Jade on a Jetson TK1 for future research purposes. This project was my first introduction to the robotics field as well as the computing research field. This project was part of my work as a Research Assistant at CETYS university under the supervision of the Ph.D. Ulises Orozco Rosas.
My contribution to the project was:
- Making the setup of the motors, sensors, and the Jetson with ROS
- Developed basic algorithms and code to work with the Microcontroller and ROS to control the motors, read encoders, and read the ultrasonic sensors
- Design mechanical fixtures with CAD software for 3D printing
- Develop various ROS and NVIDIA Jetson guides for future reference and to track research
