Set up, different implementations, CAD designs, several guides for future work on research with Turtlebot 2 with a Jetson TX2, ROS Melodic, RGB-D Camera & LiDAR (2020 - Present)
Description
This is a continuing project and my current work as a research assistant at CETYS University under the supervisión of Ph.D. Ulises Orozco Rosas. It consists of working and doing research in different fields with the Turtlebot 2 with a Jetson TX2 ROS Melodic.
My contribution to the project was:
- Initial setup with the Jetson TX2 and Turtlebot2 and the sensors (LiDAR, RGB-D Camera)
- Design mechanical fixtures with CAD software for 3D printing
- Applying different implementations of path planning algorithms and a PID controller from scratch
- Develop various ROS and NVIDIA Jetson TX2 guides for future reference and to track research
Additional comments:
Due to COVID-19, this project was on hold from May 2020 until August 2022. So unfortunately I wasn't able to have a lot of fun with it or research more with the actual robot during that period of time.
